Gary Scarborough

Gary Scarborough January 20, 1951 – October 20, 2006 At age 55, Gary Scarborough of Riesel, TX lost his battle against cancer in his home Friday evening October 20, 2006 accompanied by family and friends. His courage, tenacity and faithful optimism was an inspiration and touched the lives of many. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. He was born in Waco, TX January 20, 1951, to W. C. Dub Scarborough and Adah Williams Scarborough Pyles. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1969 and served in the US Air Force from June, 1970 to November, 1977. He and Sandra Wolf were married July 17, 1970 in San Antonio, Texas. Gary was employed by M & M Mars for 15 years prior to partnering with Tom Carroll and Steve and Dennis Voelske to form Tegron Waco, a systems controls engineering firm in 1999. He enjoyed and took great pride in his work. Along with his family, Gary's lifetime passions were hunting and fishing. He spent many hours sharing those activities with family and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Patrick Alan and his step-father, Oscar F. Pyles. His survivors include his wife Sandra, two daughters Brandi Jo Scarborough and Anita Irene Battista and her husband Joseph; two grandsons, Samuel William and Anthony Louis Battista. Two sisters: Golda Fabbre, and husband Richard, and Beth Haan and her husband, Bruce; a sister-in-law, Nelda Wolf, two brothers-in-law, Dana Wolf and his wife, Jackie and Dwaine Wolf and his wife Peggy; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1311 North New Road, Waco, TX 76710.
