SCHOENEMANN, GARY WILLIAM Gary William Schoenemann, age 55, of Lorena, loving husband, father, and son was called to heaven Monday, September 29, 2003 after an eight month struggle with Glioblastoma Multiform Brain Cancer. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday, October 1 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Elders Buddy Bryant and Jesse Howard and Rev. Buddy Sipe officiating. Burial will follow at Powers Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, September 30 at the funeral home. Gary was born February 19, 1948 to Burford and Ruth Schoenemann in Brenham, Texas. He was a graduate of Brenham High School and Sam Houston State University. Gary had a love for children; he coached numerous baseball and soccer teams. His lifelong love of horses was evident through his horse training, horseshow judging, and calf and steer roping. He was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. At the time of his death he was branch manager of Auto Chlor Systems in Waco. Gary was an Elder of the Community of Christ Church in Waco. His sense of humor, sunny disposition, and willingness to help others brought joy and a host of countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Burford Schoenemann and sister, Diane Moore. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Donna Schoenemann, daughter, Jenny Glaser and son-in-law, Steve of Hewitt, son, T. J. Schoenemann of Waco, mother, Ruth Schoenemann of Brenham, sister, Suzanne Johnson of Houston, brother, Larry Schoenemann of Harlingen, special aunt, Ruby Luedemann of Bellaire, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randy Ingram, Rick Jordan, Mike Petty, Matt Moore, Kevin Conlin, Dr. Jim Johnson, and Gary McCartney. Honorary pallbearers are Berl Cutbirth and Steven Cutbirth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Glioblastoma Multiform Brain Cancer Research.
