Mr. Gathney John Camarata September 18, 1946 - April 10, 2013 Mr. Gathney John Camarata of Waco went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 15, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Father Joy Adimakkeel as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with Chaplain Irenka Viajnic officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Gathney was born September 18, 1946, in Waco, to John and Annie Camarata. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany as a military police. He returned to farming and ranching in the Waco area. Gathney was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Gloria Casillas Camarata of Waco; children, Christopher Jo Vasquez and Margarita Vasquez; grandchildren, Chayton Mitchell, Lillyanna Mitchell and Mia Bella Vasquez; his uncle, Jake Richard and aunt, Agnes Richard; and numerous cousins. Pallbearers are Gary Moon, Paul Burns, David Sauceda, Tony Casillas, Andrew Haferkamp and Bob Fritcher. The family would like to thank the staff of Providence Hospice for their help and care.
