Gaylon Ben Mills

Gaylon Ben Mills passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by family who adored him. A memorial honoring Gaylon will be Saturday, December 3rd at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (come and go as you please).


Gaylon was born in Littlefield, Texas, December 7, 1950. From a young age he helped his father on their farm and learned a wonderful work ethic. He attended school in Littlefield and graduated high school there in 1969. Gaylon worked for Goodyear as the store manager for 33 years before he retired from full time work in 2012. Between 2013 and 2020 he continued to work part-time at Goodyear in Waco.


Gaylon met his wife, Dee Dee, the summer of 1979 and married her on November 17, 1979. They were married 42 ½ years before her untimely passing in May of this year.



Gaylon was an avid golf player who would often spend Sunday mornings, his only day off from work, playing golf with his buddies. He was a lifetime member of Harley Davidson club and went on many rides on his custom 2000 Harley Davidson Softail. He traveled all over Texas riding with his HOG friends and even one year traveling on his Harley to Sturgis, South Dakota, for the famous annual Sturgis Bike Rally. For many years his wife would join him on his rides, where they would spend quality time together looking at scenery. He was a wonderful Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Boss, and friend and will be missed deeply.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloys “Dee Dee” Mills; his parents, Clifton and Lucille Mills; and his son, Jason Scott Wagner.

Survivors include his sisters, Sharon Mangum and Donna Dick; son, Jason Mills; daughters, Nikki Mills and Stacy Perkins and husband, Brett; granddaughters, Jackie and Taylor Mills, and Brooklyn and Brynlie Murphy; bonus granddaughter, Ainsley Perkins; grandsons, Bransyn and Bryce Murphy; bonus grandsons, Zachary, Ethan and Brady Perkins; and great-grandsons, Jacob Mills and Tre Caldwell.
