George and Alyne Nelson George and Alyne Bunny Nelson’s love story began at Baylor in 1942 and ended together at their home on June 5, 2007. Their wish had been to enter God’s kingdom as one – the way they lived. Services will be at 10:00 am Monday June 11 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8:00 pm Sunday, June 10 in the Garden Room at the funeral home. George was born on July 17, 1920 and graduated Baylor in 1947. George’s parents were Rev. and Mrs. Calvin Nelson, Sr. of Palestine. He worked as a salesman in the packaging industry and was a local watercolor artist. Bunny was born on February 21, 1924. Bunny’s parents were Jim and Hattie Sloan. She was a homemaker and worked many years in the insurance business. Left to cherish their memories are their children: son, Ronald Nelson and wife, Beth of Waco and their son Drew Nelson; son, Jim Nelson and wife, Jeanne of Hewitt and their children, James A. Nelson and wife, Wendi and their daughter, Bianca Nelson; Kim Sayatovic and husband, Jay, Lisa Hamm and her children, Taylor Nelson and Gene Hamm, III; sister-in-law, Mildred Nelson of Uvalde and many dear and loving nieces and nephews.
