George Lawson Clark, Jr. January 6, 1927 - January 13, 2009 George Lawson Clark, Jr. of Waco died Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Hillcrest Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 15, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Lawson was born January 6, 1927, in Cameron, Texas to George and Edna Clark. The family moved around the state during the Depression and Lawson graduated from Cameron's Yoe High School in 1944. He attended Texas A&M University and then served during World War II in the Army Air Corps. Following his discharge in 1946, he attended Texas A&M and the General Motors Institute in Lansing, Michigan. Lawson married Jean Bidelspach in 1955. Lawson's business career included being a Chevrolet dealer in Bremond, TX, a car dealer in Waco, and a long tenure as a loan officer at First National Bank. He's remembered as a believer and a faithful husband and father. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jean; son, George Lawson Clark III and wife, Tracy Nelson Clark; daughter, Deborah Jean Hartin; and 4 grandchildren.
