WOLFE, GEORGE P. George P. Wolfe, age 91, of Waco, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be 11:30am Tuesday, October 21 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Bosque Chapel with the Rev. Rebecca Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be 6-8pm Monday, October 20 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. George was born September 28, 1912 in Childress, Texas to the late Burt and Iola Wolfe. He served as a Medic in the US Army in WWII. He also met and married Mabel Harris in Birmingham England during the War. He worked for the Veterans Administration and retired in Waco after 35 years of service. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Trustee. He was also active in the Boy Scouts where he was Scout Master for Troop 433 and received the Silver Beaver Award for over 25 years of service. He was proceeded in death by his sister, Mary Ruth Gill. Survivors include wife, Mabel Wolfe, sons, John Wolfe of Newport Beach, CA, Jim Wolfe and wife Mary of College Station, Chris Wolfe and wife Vicky of Waco and David Wolfe and wife Theresa of Spring; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister; Jesse Freudiger.
