George Richardson

George Richardson April 18, 1941 - October 14, 2014 George Richardson of Waco passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. David Gant officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 16, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. George was born April 18, 1941 in Ireland, Texas to G.M. and Sara Meadie Richardson. He attended schools and was active in sports at Evant High School. The family moved to Gatesville, Texas, in 1958, where his mother owned and operated a gas station and convenience store and his father worked for the prison there. George married Linda Underhill of Waco in 1961, at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. He worked at Safeway and H.E.B. Stores and in management positions at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and Fujitsu Corporation. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns play football. George's interest was in serving his Lord and Savior. He was a deacon and an elder as well as a teacher and administrator. George is with his precious Jesus at last. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, David Richardson and wife, Angela, and Daryl Richardson and wife, Sabrina; grandchildren, Brayden, Bryce, Braxton and Brynlee, and expected granddaughter in November Skyler; sister, Ramona Hale; and many nieces and nephews.
