George Veselka

VESELKA, GEORGE George Veselka, age 78, of Waco died Thursday, November 6, 2003 at a local hospital. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, November 10 at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. David Leibham officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 6pm Sunday, November 9 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with visitation to follow. Mr. Veselka was born February 18, 1925 in West to Jim and Emilie Kyselka Veselka. He graduated from South Bosque High School. He was a veteran of WWII U.S. Army Air Corps. He married Louise Makovy February 10, 1948 in Waco. He worked for General Tire and Rubber Co. in production for 40 years. Mr. Veselka was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and V. F. W. Post #2148. George’s special love was his grandchildren. He also loved his country, the outdoors and riding the country roads. He was a kind and generous man. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and five brothers. Survivors include wife, Louise Lois Veselka of Waco, daughters, Peggy Fedro and husband, Mike of Waco and Jeanie Ponce and husband, Jay of Canyon Lake, grandchildren, Lindsey Fedro and Jarrod Ponce, sister, Irene Rogers and husband, Bill of Waco, brother, Ernest Veselka and wife, Dolores of Waco and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Henry Veselka, Jerry Wayne Veselka, Steve Veselka, Daniel Veselka, Mark Boyd, and David Bohac.
