Georgia Ruth Carroll July 7, 1924 - November 11, 2014 Georgia Ruth Carroll of Hewitt passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Scott and White Hospital. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Brad Brittain officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Georgia was born July 7, 1924, in Emmett, Texas, to Otto and Mary Northern. She graduated from Frost High School, where she excelled as a member of the varsity basketball team. She was also a member of Central United Methodist Church in Waco and the Galilean Sunday School Class. Upon retirement, she and her husband, Marvin, enjoyed extensive travel to all 48 continental United States and the Canadian provinces, developing lifelong friendships wherever they traveled. She loved playing table games with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 55 years, Marvin Dale Carroll; and six brothers. She is survived by two sons, Gary L. Carroll of Hewitt, Texas, and Brett D. Carroll and wife, Robin, of Waco; one daughter, Joella R. Wininger and husband, James, of Belton, Texas; one sister, Frances Schrader of Avalon, Texas; one sister-in-law, Imogene Northern of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Jeremy Carroll, Craig Wininger, Brian Thiele, Christopher Wininger, Ken Furst and Joe Furst.
