Gilbert Sammy Horn August 29, 1931 - June 1, 2006 Gilbert Horn, 74, of Waco passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006, at his home after a six year battle with cancer. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Calvary Assembly of God with Rev. Thomas Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m.Sunday, June 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Gilbert was born August 29, 1931 in Coolidge, TX to Rev. Lonnie and Nora Horn. He attended Dawson schools and then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Later he attended Baylor University. On June 8, 1956 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Honor Davis, in Dawson. He was the pre-owned car manager at Bird-Kultgen Ford for more than 30 years. During that time he received numerous awards and was recognized by Ford Motor Company as an outstanding manager for this region. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Honor Horn of Waco; his daughter Janie and husband, David Wright of Dallas; his son Gil Horn and wife, Tina of Robinson; his grandchildren Clint, Collin, Savannah Horn, and one brother, Alvin Horn of Pearland. Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society or Calvary Assembly of God Church at 1208 N. Robinson Dr. Waco, TX.
