Gilda Frances Lene December 1, 1926 - August 30, 2010 Gilda Frances Lene of Waco passed away Monday, August 30, 2010, surrounded by her family. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pastor Mike Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Frances was born December 1, 1926, in Marshall, Texas, to Marvin and Dessie Mae Curry. She and her husband, Thomas, raised cattle and loved to travel with friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church of China Spring. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 62 years, Thomas J. Lene, Jr.; three brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her son, Tom Lene and wife, Donna; daughters, Linda Beatty and husband, Steve; Susan Kroll and husband, Harold; Gilda Bush and Steve Whaley; 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; her brother, Johnny Curry; and numerous family and friends. Pallbearers are Steve Beatty, Steve Whaley, Harold Kroll, Sean Beatty, Jeff Kroll and Tommy Lene. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of China Spring or the Thomas J. and Gilda Frances Lene Scholarship Fund of McLennan Community College.
