Gilliam James Robertson December 20, 1937 March 27, 2014 He passed from this world on March 27, 2014, after a 10 year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Gilliam James Robertson was born on December 20, 1937. He was a loving son, father, brother and uncle. James was a patrolman for the Waco Police Department from 1960 to 1969; a special agent for the US Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Criminal Enforcement Division from 1969 to 1976. After a spinal injury, James graduated from the University of Houston - Downtown with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management Technology. He concluded his business career as the Director of Procurement at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2001. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilliam Littleton Robertson and Myrtis Mayberry Robertson; and his sisters, Marie Robertson and Bonnie Louise Reed. He is survived by his wife, Betty Robertson; his daughters, Jamey Nelson Boettcher and husband, James, and Tari Jo Cox and husband, John; his son, Gilliam Patrick Robertson; his grandsons, John Tyler Cox, James Dillon Cox and Cody Michael Nelson; and his granddaughter, Cassidy Noelle Nelson. He is also survived by his sister, Nevillyn Dawn Jackson; in-laws, Clyde and Rose Bush, Bill and Debbie Spivey, Michael and Linda Spivey, Bobby Spivey and Robert Swope; in addition to many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers are Chris Jackson, Stevie Jackson, Ricky Jackson, Corbett Bush, Josh Spivey and Cody Nelson. The family is very grateful to the loving staff of the Good Shepherd Hospice of Houston for their sincere support in our time of need.
