Gladys Hunt September 4, 1915 – February 5, 2007 Gladys Etier Hunt passed away peacefully in her home Monday, February 5, 2007. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Fisher officiating. Gladys was born September 4, 1915 in Speegleville, Texas to George and Dora Williams Etier. She attended Speegleville and Waco schools. During her life, she worked at various places of employment - those being Lone Star Gas Company, City of Waco Water Dept. and Goldstein-Migel. She was a lifelong member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and for many years was a regular volunteer for American Red Cross. Gladys loved all the holidays and especially at Christmas was more than generous with her giving for children of Samaritan's Purse, Talitha Koun Institute for Children as well as making life a little brighter for the elderly in nursing homes. She was also an avid bridge player as this was one of her most favorite pastimes which she enjoyed for many years. Gladys married Ira L. Hunt in 1980. He preceded her in death in May, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Otis Etier and her sister, Mary Etier Heath. She is survived by her cousins, Mary Ann Jones of Waco, T.S. Williams of Dallas and Jack N. Williams of Baton Rouge La. The family would like to express special thanks to Blanco Farmer for all her help and loving care to Gladys over the years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Samaritan's Purse or Talitha Koun Institute for Children in Waco.
