Gladys N. Barrett

March 4, 1905 — January 18, 2003

BARRETT, GLADYS N. Gladys N. Barrett, age 97, widow of Lt. Col. William Alton Barrett, of Waco, formerly of San Antonio died Saturday, January 18, 2003 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with the Rev. Dr. Jimmie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery, Leon County, Texas. Mrs. Barrett was a graduate of Southwest Texas University in San Marcos and taught in San Antonio Independent School District for several years. Gladys was a member of Waco First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Association and Fellowship Sunday School Class. Gladys was married 46 years to Lt. Col. W. A. Barrett, who preceded her in death. Survivors include sisters, Laverne Morton of Waco and Vivian McIver of Fort Worth; nieces, Sylvia Schuster of Bryan and Kay Serafin of League City; and nephews, Thomas Barrett of Louisiana and John Barrett of Washington.
