Glenn Burns March 2, 1924 - December 5, 2010 Glenn Burns of Waco passed away in a local hospital, Sunday, December 5, 2010, surrounded by his family. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 10, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Pat Cummings officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 10, prior to the service in the chapel. Glenn was born March 2, 1924 in Moody, Texas to Silas and Effie Burns. Mr. Burns was a beloved father, honored WWII veteran, and devoted Freemason. He owned and operated Burns Motor Company. He was especially active in the Karem Shrine, where he found absolute joy in any effort that would raise money to help children in need. Everyone who knew him loved him for his sparkling personality, his kind heart, and his quick wit. His absence leaves a space in all our hearts that can never be refilled, for there will never be another quite like him. We love you, Daddy. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children, Patricia F. Wharton and husband, Nick; Michael Glenn Burns and wife, Nancy; Kay Eschenburg and husband, Larry; and Brian Burns and wife, Veronica; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Justin Chapman, Wade Mason, Larry Green, Travis Davis, Jack Norlie and Jim Woosley. Memorials may be made to Masonic or Shriner Children's Hospitals, c/o Karem Temple of Waco.
