Gloria Evelyn Marshall April 13, 1922 - June 29, 2015 Gloria Evelyn Marshall of Waco passed away Monday, June 29, 2015. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 2, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey with the Rev. Su Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 1:30 p.m., prior to the chapel service. Gloria was born April 13, 1922, near Paducah, Texas, to Walter and Frances Ward Mitchell. She grew up and attended school in Academy. She moved to Waco in 1941. Gloria and J.O. Marshall married on June 1, 1945. He died on September 19, 1987. Gloria was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco since 1945. Mrs. Marshall was an active member of the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. She served as president of U.M.W. for five years plus many other offices, both at First United Methodist and in the Waco District. She and J.O. enjoyed travel and visited most of the 50 states plus Canada and Mexico. Gloria's mission in life was to be a good wife, mother and grandmother, but she found time to volunteer with many groups. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Floyd Marshall and wife, Patty; and granddaughter, Sara Marshall, all of Waco; plus cousins, nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Waco or to Aldersgate Enrichment Center, Brownwood, Texas.
