Glynda K. Mitchell

Glynda K Mitchell, 82, passed away on Saturday August 20, 2022 at Providence Hospital in Waco, TX. A memorial service will be held for Glynda on Friday August 26, 2022 at 11:00 am. The service will be held at First United Methodist Church at 1300 Austin Avenue. Pastor Brandon Frenzel will officiate. Glynda was born May 12, 1940 to Thomas and Opal Haynie of Lampasas, TX. She was the second of 6 siblings. She attended elementary, middle and high school in Lampasas. She continued her education in the arts and painting following graduating from high school. She worked for many years at the Waco Tribune Herald in the advertising department and then at JCPenney before retiring in 2006. She always enjoyed painting, decorating and entertaining. She especially enjoyed inviting friends and family into her home for Christmas and other events such as birthday parties and any special occasion. She had a great love of animals, especially her dogs Charlie, Albert and Emma and her cats Jules and Remington. She is preceded in death by her husband Gary Mitchell and both of her parents. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Mitchell of Waco, her sister Gaynell Smith of Waco., her sister and brother in law Nancy and Chris Phillips of Woodbridge, CA. her brother Thomas Haynie of Cleburne, TX. her sister and brother in law Melissa and Ronnie Lawson of Temple, TX. her brother and sister in law Ricky and Pam Haynie of Lampasas, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews The family invites you to share a message or memory on our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.wilkirsonhatchbailey.com Wilkerson-Hatch-Bailey
