Grady Byrd

April 24, 1921 — February 10, 2005

Grady Lois Byrd, 83 of Waco, died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at her residence. Graveside services will be at 3pm Monday, February 14 at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Raymond Bailey officiating. Mrs. Byrd was born in Mart, Texas to John Milton and Ivy Barnett April 24, 1921. She attended school in Waco and then business college. She married Lynn L. Byrd on October 8, 1941. She was a lifetime member of Seventh and James Baptist Church and she worked for McLennan County as secretary for five different judges. She was active in the Association for Retarded Citizens and served on the board. She also served on the board of MHMR. She dedicated her life to the loving care of her two sons Billy and Barney. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons and a sister. Survivors include sister-in-law, Theresa Sue Richards of Oregon, brother-in-law, J.S. Byrd of Dallas, sisters, Rachel Fritsch and Mary Jean Burton; nieces and nephews, Sue Fritsch, Milton Fritsch and John Burton. The family would like to thank her two caregivers, Marie Lockhart and K. Mae Walls, also Dr. Gary Barbin and his staff and her very special niece Sue Fritsch for all of their loving and tender care. Memorials may be made to MHMR or Seventh and James Baptist Church.
