Gus G. Giotes January 29, 1937 - April 12, 2010 Gus G. Giotes, 73, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010, at his home in Sarasota, Florida. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Father Ted Tsitsilianos of St. Nicholas Othodox Church of Waco officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Prayer Memorial Services Trisaygion were held on April 14 in Sarasota with Father Frank Kirlangitis of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church officiating, which was followed by visitation with the family. Gus was born on January 29, 1937, in Waco to George and A P Aphrodite Giotes. Gus was a 1955 graduate of Waco High School and graduated in 1960 from Baylor University with a BBA degree. After graduating from college, Gus went to work for Kmart Corporation. Beginning as a store manager, he ended his career as National Director of Automotive and later Construction at Kmart's International headquarters in Troy, Michigan. After 35 years with the corporation, Gus retired in 1996. Dale and Gus moved to Sarasota in 1998. Gus was a member of St. Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church in Sarasota. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and A P Giotes. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dale Giotes; his three children, Tina of Sarasota, Michael and Stephanie of Ft. Worth; as well as two brothers, Artie and his wife, Wanda, and Johnny, all of Waco.
