Gwendolyn Snider Hirsch

Gwendolyn S. Hirsch of Woodway passed away peacefully Monday, April 18, 2016, at her residence. Her graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, at Rodef Shalom Cemetery with the Rabbi Laura Harari officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Gwen was born September 20, 1929, in Hubbard, Texas, to Nolan and Lottie Snider. She graduated from Waco High in 1946. Gwen enjoyed painting and extensive travel for many years. She was past-president and longtime member of Junior Shakespeare, member of Historic Waco Foundation, Meals on Wheels and 55 year member of Temple Rodef Shalom and it’s Sisterhood. Most of all Gwen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bernd Hirsch; daughter, Aletha George and husband, Sherman; son, Louis Hirsch; grandsons, Casey George and wife, Jade, Clinton George and wife, Natalie and Cory Hirsch; great grandchildren, Emme, Brady and Christian George; brother, Dean Snider and wife, Marie; and three nieces. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons. The family wants to thank the dear and wonderful caregivers who took such good care of her.
