Gwendolyn W. Aldredge

Dr. Gwendolyn W. Aldredge passed away Monday, August 14, 2017, at home, surrounded by family. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Kip Osborne officiating. A graveside service will be held 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, at Crowville Masonic Cemetery, Crowville, Louisiana. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Gwen Aldredge was born October 15, 1941, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Wyman Ray Aldredge and Arlene Holloway Aldredge. Gwen received her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, a master’s degree from Louisiana State University and her PhD. from Florida State University. She was a professor at Baylor University for 29 years before retiring in 2002. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church in Waco. In her spare time she enjoyed scrap booking, crosswords, traveling, and spoiling her granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by son, Collin Aldredge; daughter, Alana Aldredge Schaeper and husband, Jake; and granddaughter, Gracie Schuetz.
