Gwynne Dee Aydelotte January 5, 1925 September 25, 2011 Gwynne Aydelotte of Waco died Sunday, September 25, 2011, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, at Oakwood Cemetery. Gwynne was born on January 5, 1925, in Coolidge, Texas, to De Witt and Clare Grooms. She met and married Jarvies "Jake" Aydelotte in 1946 and together they raised four children. Their lives were involved with many moves in association with Jake's military career. Each time Gwynne was able to successfully manage a stable, functional, and loving homestead, even with a time factor as short as six months. In 1960, after Jake's retirement from the Air Force, Gwynne obtained her realtor license. This began a long a very successful career in the Waco real estate market. Over the next three years she was able to assist many families in finding their first home. These achievements led to Gwynne becoming a managing broker for the Jim Stewart Real Estate Company. Many realtors working in the Waco market today were trained by Gwynne. She continued to work in the Waco real estate market until the early 1980s, after which she joined her husband in retirement. For many years Gwynne was active in the First United Methodist Church. She had fond memories of her involvement with the Odell-Dudley Sunday School Class. Gwynne loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. An avid reader, Gwynne was known to take full advantage of her Kindle on a daily basis. She had a lifelong love and fascination with card games, especially with bridge. Over the years she was an active participant in various bridge clubs across the country. She loved many and will be missed by them all. Gwynne is survived by her two sons, Rod Aydelotte and wife, Becky, of Waco, and John Aydelotte and wife, Kaye Iverson, of Fort Collins, Colorado; two daughters, Candace Alsop of Andover, Massachusetts, and Kim Scheps Derr and husband, Terry Derr, of Bellaire, Tex.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchild; her sister, Barbara McKenzie of Hubbard, Tex.; and her brother, John 'Sonny' Grooms.
