NANCE, SR., H. HART H. Hart Nance, Sr., age 83, former President and Chairman of The Citizens National Bank, Waco, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2002. Graveside services will be held at 11am Thursday, November 14 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. David Shuttlesworth officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Nance was born on November 22, 1918 in Bogota, Texas and graduated from Terrell High School. He married the former Julia Bess Crofts in 1943. He graduated from Baylor University School of Law in 1947, and began his career in the Trust Department of Citizens National Bank. He also taught at Baylor University School of Law. He served as President of the Baylor Alumni Association, and was a Trustee of Baylor University. He served as President of the Waco Junior Chamber of Commerce, and the Waco Chamber of Commerce. He was chairman of the Waco United Fund, the R. B. Albaugh Foundation, the G. H. Pape Foundation and the Fellowship of Deacons at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. At the time of his death he was a member of Park Lake Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, J. B.; daughters, Judi Mrs. Bob Staton of Lindale, Texas, Jeanie Phillips of Waco; sons, Dr. H. Hart Nance, Jr. Latiscia of Cleburne and Dr. Matthew L. Nance of Houston; grandchildren, Windie Staton, Heidi Dudley, Robert Staton, Kelsey Staton, Travis Phillips, Thomas Phillips, Matthew Phillips, and Alyssa Nance; great grandchild, Staton Hart Dudley; brother, James P. Nance and sister, Ruth Benton both of Arlington; nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Park Lake Drive Baptist Church, Waco, Texas or to charity of choice.
