HARL T. HOGAN, 71, of Waco, died Thursday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM Monday, September 17, 2001, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd, the Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock, Ark. Visitation will be 3-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Hogan was born February 2, 1930 in North Little Rock, Ark to Troy and Bertha Hogan. He served four years on a minesweeper during the Korean War. Before serving, he was employed at IK Electric Co., Little Rock, Ark and later at Harris Hospital, Fort Worth and St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock and Muskagan, Mich. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After coming to Waco, Mr. Hogan was employed by Texas State Technical College from 1977 to February, 1995. Harl and his wife Dot owned the Costume Castle on Waco Dr. He was a member of National Costumers Assoc. where his full head animal costumes were nationally recognized and highly sought after. Mr. Hogan was a member of First United Methodist Church, a former member of the Rotary International, and the American Hospital Association of Texas Hospital Engineers. Harl received the Robert C. Paul Award for Excellence in Hospital Engineering. Mr. Hogan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Hogan; a son Michael and his wife Julianne Hogan; a daughter Deborah and her husband Orlando Wanga of Boston , Mass; one grandson Kristopher Wanga and a brother Donald Hogan of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
