Harold Wayne Bassham, Sr.

September 5, 1936 — October 27, 2001

BASSHAM, SR., HAROLD Harold Wayne Bassham, Sr., age 65, went home to be with the Lord Saturday night, October 27, 2001 at 10:25pm. Services are scheduled for 1:30pm Wednesday, October 31st at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Roy Marshall officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, November 1st at 1:30pm in Ganado, TX where Mr. Bassham was born. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00PM Tuesday, October 30th at the funeral home. Harold loved the Lord. He never met a stranger and had friends all over the place. It is with great sadness for those that loved him that he left this world, but it is with tremendous joy that he has met face to face with the One he has served so faithfully throughout his 65 years. Those he left behind have been blessed with knowing and loving this precious man. Harold worked in the oil business early in his career, but later owned, operated and retired from the carpet business. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Thelma Harris Bassham of Ganado. Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of three weeks, Donna Evetts Bassham of Waco, Texas. They met and fell in love eight months ago and married October 6th. Though their time was short, it was the love of a lifetime for the both of them--it was a match made in heaven. He is also survived by his four children: Carol McAuliffe of Altus, Oklahoma, Harold “Rocky” Bassham, Candice Mills, and Cheryl Farr all of Corpus Christi, and three stepdaughters: Debbie Copeland of Carbon, Denise Blake of Odessa and Dana Reed of Lorena. He has eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and ten step grandchildren, and three brothers, Ray Bassham of Mineral Wells, Jerry Bassham and Billy Bassham of Ganado. Memorials may be given to the Music Ministry at First Baptist Church, Eastland, Texas. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
