Harvey J. Green, 91, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Brumit officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Harvey was born January 20, 1926, in Groesbeck, Texas to James A. and Emma Green. On October 12, 1945, he married Frances Crump in Orange, Texas. He served in the US Navy. He witnessed and survived the Waco tornado in 1953 while working as an auto mechanic at Waco Chevrolet Company. Then he started his truck driving career with Central Freight Lines and continued his driving career even after retirement. He was an active member of the George N. Denton Masonic, Lodge 24. He served as Past Master and also received the Golden Trowel Award. His biggest loves were his children and grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Frances; sister, Betty Jane Green; and son-in-law, Dana Hodge. He is survived by his son Kenneth Green and wife Ann of Denton, daughter Barbara Hodge of Waco, daughter Brenda Chaney and husband Mike of Waco, and son Larry Green and wife Melanie of Hewitt, daughter Gina Storer and husband Kerry Lee of Waco; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great –grandchild; and brothers-in-law, Robert Crump of Timpson, Texas and Billy Crump of Hallsville, Texas. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. A very special thanks to Liz Henderson his caretaker, Reliable Home Health, nurses, and doctors at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Hillcrest.
