Hazel Allene Fry

Hazel Allene Fry passed away Friday, September 23, 2016, at Arbor House of Waco. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, at First United Methodist Church of Lorena with Rev. Matt Bailey officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 25, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. She was born on August 27, 1928, in Senoia, Georgia, to James Thomas and Nellie Kate Harper. She graduated from Starr High School in Sharpsburg, Georgia. She married Eugene Hubbard on June 11, 1949, and they settled in Senoia. She held various positions of employment, including banking, tax office, bookkeeping, and postal service. She married Bruce Fry on January 1, 1996. She and Bruce moved to Texas in September 2001. Hazel was a devoted member of Lorena United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to everyone she met. She touched so many lives with her warm smile, sweet disposition and loving heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brother; her first husband, Eugene Hubbard; Bruce Fry, her second husband; and one daughter, Kathy Hubbard. Hazel is survived by one daughter, Judy Mullis and husband, Doug, of Eddy, Texas; one son, Gene “Chip” Hubbard of Newnan, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Bobbi Hubbard of Hewitt; three grandchildren, Chris Mullis of Eddy, Jen Bass of Lorena, and Emilee Hubbard of Hewitt; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Mullis of Washington, and Megan Epperson and Kaidyn Bass of Lorena; and nieces and nephews in Georgia. The family acknowledges special thanks to Blue Bonnet Hospice nurses and caregivers, as well as Arbor House of Waco staff and caregivers .
