KAY, HAZEL MARJORIE Hazel Marjorie Newsom Kay, age 78, of Waco died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at her residence. Services will be held at 9:30am Saturday, November 29 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, with Rev. Pamela Dykehouse and Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30pm at Union Cemetery in Freestone County. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7pm Friday, November 28 at the funeral home. Hazel was born January 20, 1925 in Donie, Texas to the late Clarence Alvin Newsom and Georgia B. Bond Newsom, the fourth of five children. She graduated from Donie High School in 1942. She had worked at the telephone company and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and square dancing. On December 4, 1993 she married Perry Pat Kay in Robinson. Hazel was a member of Robinson Drive United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Pat Kay; son, Derrell Elkins and wife, Mary of Waco; daughter, Marjorie Williams and husband Don of Axtell; son Gary Middleton and wife, Brenda Johns Middleton of Fort Worth; step-daughter, Priscilla Henry and husband, David of Woodway; brothers, C. A. Newsom, Jr. of Temple, Walter Bill Newsom of College Station, Allen Newsom and wife, Alice of Hubbard, and Dale Newsom and wife Patty of Sudan; eight grandchildren; Dereke Elkins and wife Janet of Hewitt, Jenifer Elkins of Waco, Micah Williams and wife Michelle of Waco, Daniel Williams and Jill Antonio of Plano, Christie Giles and husband Mark of Arlington, Stacie Winters and husband, Delbert of Arlington, Hillary Henry and David Henry II of Waco; great grandchildren, Hannah Elkins, Ashley Jones, Molli Morgan, Megan Williams, Dylan Williams, John Giles, Makayla Giles, Hunter Winters, and Hallie Winters, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Dereke Elkins, Micah Williams, Daniel Williams, Mark Giles, Delbert Winters, Walter Lawrence Newsom, and David Henry II.
