Helen Dorothy Young Broderick September 8, 1913 - June 23, 2008 Helen Dorothy Young Broderick of West, formerly of Waco, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at Waco Memorial Park with the Father Isidore Rozycki of St. Martin's Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Helen was born September 8, 1913 in the Elk-Axtell Community to Gottlieb and Mary Weinzettle Young. She and Thomas S. Broderick were married in 1945 and he predeceased her in 1975. After her husband's discharge from the U.S. Army following WWII, they settled in Kansas City, MO. Upon the death of her spouse in 1975, Mrs. Broderick relocated to Waco where she resided until early 2004, when she moved to West Rest Haven in West, TX. She was the youngest and last surviving sibling of this generation of the Young family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; and brothers, John, Bill, Frank, Charlie, Henry and Albert Young; and sisters, Marie Young, Clara Bird, Elizabeth West and Ann DeHart. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Eva Young of Axtell and Vera Young of Waco; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
