Helen Ogden Apr. 2, 1923 – Dec. 13, 2005 Helen Gregory Ogden, 82, passed away December 13, 2005 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Memorial service will be Thursday, Dec. 15 at 4:00 pm at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Philip Jones and the Rev. Romilly Timmons officiating. Helen was born April 2, 1923 to Fitzhugh Lee Gregory and Emma Partain Gregory. She graduated from Thorndale High School and served as a WAC during World War II. She married William Bill C. Ogden December 22, 1946 in Cameron, Texas. They happily celebrated over 50 years of marriage. Helen married Edward Ned Wolfe in El Paso, November, 2004. Helen had been an active member of the Alter Guild and St. Catherine’s Guild of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. She was a Sustainer Emeritus of the Junior League of Waco, volunteered with the Waco Cotton Palace and Senior Ministries’ Meals on Wheels. She loved her family and many dear friends. Helen always enjoyed meeting new people and traveling. She loved attending her grandchildren’s many athletic events and activities through the years. Tennis was one of Helen’s passions. She loved the game and the competition. She had belonged to numerous tennis leagues and was a top-ranked tennis player in Waco for many years. Playing bridge and reading were other favorite hobbies. She was a fabulous cook. Fondly known as “Honey” by her family, she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Bill Ogden; her second husband, Ned Wolfe; her parents, F.L. Gregory and Emma P. Gregory; brother, Sam Gregory and sister, Eleanor G. Hulme. Helen is survived by her son, Greg Ogden and wife, Alice of Waco; son, Dr. David Ogden and wife, Andi of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jordan Ogden and wife, Christy of Dallas, Geoffrey Ogden of Waco, Madelaine and Taylor Ogden of San Antonio; brother-in-laws, Bill Hulme of San Antonio and Dr. Howard Ogden of Dallas; niece, Sharon Ann Waters and family of Lago Vista; nephews, Ronnie, Mike and Jeff Hulme and families of San Antonio; cousins, Betty and John Hrncir of Houston, Frank and Bernice Roddie of Brady, Diane and Clifford Grubbs of Horseshoe Bay. Ned’s children and grandchildren, Patti, David, Justin and Courtney Mitchell of Dallas, Peggi and Leo Morgan of Dallas and Jack, Vanessa, Preston and Carter Wolfe of Austin. The family expresses their deep appreciation for the loving care shown to Honey by all her physicians, Drs. Sudan, Shipp, Barbin, Copeland, Richie, Perez, Schwartze, Oishi, Lewin, Rapaake and Carpenter, along with the Hillcrest ICU, Hospice, fourth floor nurses, staff and chaplains. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Junior League of Waco, Clifton House Endowment Fund, Senior Ministries’ Meals on Wheels or Compassion Ministries.
