PETITT, HELEN IRENE Helen Irene Petitt, age 77 formerly of Elm Mott died Monday, January 5, 2004 in Portland, Tennessee. Graveside services will be held at 10am Friday, January 9 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Thomas D. Roberson officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Thursday, January 8 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Mrs. Petitt was born February 7, 1926 in Reading, Michigan to Floyd A. and Hazel B. Doney, where she was reared and educated. She married Evirt Lester Petitt February 6, 1948. He preceded her in death October 1, 2002. She retired from T.S.T.C in 1992. She was a longtime resident of Elm Mott. She attended Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God. Survivors include daughters, Joyce Durrett and husband, Terry and Darleen Petitt all of Cottontown, Tennessee and Linda Green of Groesbeck; sons, Bruce Petitt and wife, Brenda of China Spring and Evirt Petitt of Cottontown; grandchildren, Jeffery Petitt, Jana and Jody Durrett all of Cottontown, Jelessa Bowman and husband, Jeremy of Waco, and Betsy Petitt of China Spring; great grandchildren, Jalayne and Jayna Bowman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
