Helen Hamlin October 7, 1917 – January 28, 2006 Helen Hamlin, 88, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Hillcrest Hospital. Graveside services will be at 3:30 pm Wednesday, February 1, at Waco Memorial North Cemetery with Rev.Virgil Buddy Matthews officiating. Helen was born October 7, 1917 in Waco, to William Wittman, Jr. and Mary Ella Wittman. Helen was a lifelong Methodist and was at Herring Avenue Methodist Church until the sale of the property and then transferred her membership to First United Methodist of Waco. She dearly loved her family and her extended family. She worked as a commercial artist at Austin Engraving, SMI and worked at Career Girl after retiring from the advertising industry. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Evelyn Gurley. She is survived by her three sons: Delane Hamlin and wife, Kimberly of Burleson; David Hamlin and wife, Darlene of Waco, and Richard Hamlin and wife, Judy of Waco; one brother, Bill Wittman and wife, Betty of Georgetown; one sister, Shirley Matthews and husband, Buddy of Jacksonville; five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
