MEADOWS, HELEN Helen Meadows, age 86, of Waco died Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Friday, August 16 at Columbus Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. Dan White officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Meadows was born July 29, 1916 in Big Spring, Arkansas. She was reared and educated in Shreveport. She graduated from Northwestern Teachers College in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She married Dr. Charlie Meadows June 11, 1937. He preceded her in death February 29, 2000. She had been a resident of Waco for the past 52 years. She was a longtime math teacher in Waco teaching at Waco High and Tennyson Jr. High. Mrs. Meadows was a member of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church and Friday Forum. She was also preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Hugh Walmsley and Herman and Edgar Meadows and a sister-in-law, Freida Meadows. Survivors include daughter, Sandra Petty and husband, Jim of Bryan; son, Chuck Meadows and wife, Mary Blake of Dallas; grandchildren, Melissa Bordelon and husband, Mark of Houston and Chad Petty and wife, Audrey of Nacogdoches; great grandchildren, Seth, Kendall and William Bordelon and James Petty; sister, Betty Walmsley of Shreveport; sister-in-law, Norma Meadows Adams of McAllen; niece, Patricia; and nephews, Glenn, Billy, Sidney and Hugh.
