Helga Pirelo

August 18, 1933 — March 21, 2024

Helga Malene Pirelo was born on August 18, 1933, in Offenbach, Germany. Our Nanny passed away peacefully at home at the age of 90, with family at her side, March 21, 2024, into the arms of Jesus and her loving husband. Helga met and married the love of her life, Herbert Pirelo, in Frankfurt Germany. Nanny and Papaw will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary March 31st/Easter Sunday in Heaven TOGETHER.


Memorial services will be held Saturday April 6, 2024, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd Waco, Texas 76710. There will be a pre-service brunch/visitation in the Garden Room at 10:00 a.m., with rosary and memorial service following at 11:00 a.m.


**In honor of our Nanny who ALWAYS wore bright colored outfits & matching nail color, PLEASE WEAR BRIGHT COLORS TO HER SERVICE.


Nanny loved football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns, and Six Flags over Texas. She loved amusement parks and wanted to go every year with her family.


Helga was preceded in death by her parents, Emile and Else Weisse; her devoted husband, Herbert Pirelo; her sister and brother-in-law, Irmgard and Giles Flanagin; as well as her nephew, Ralph Flanagin.


She is survived by daughters, Mary Pirelo Howard, Ruth Hankins (husband Daniel), and Pat Dugan (husband Greg Dugan); and nephew Frank Flanagin (wife Karen). Helga is also survived by her grandchildren, Dustin Pirrello (wife Toni), Raven Howard, Spencer Arellano, Chastity Wages (husband Stan), Melissa Reeves (husband Quentin), Charles Connor, Karen Rutherford (husband Steve), and Monica Chudej; her 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.


She will be greatly missed but will remain in our hearts and memories until we see her again.
