Hellen B. Lee May 31, 1920 – September 7, 2006 Hellen B. Lee, 86, passed into God’s loving arms Thursday, September 7th, 2006 at home with her devoted husband, Vernon, at her side. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 12, at 2:00 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. David Story officiating. A private burial will be at a later time. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, September 11, from 6 – 8 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Hellen was born in Shreveport, LA on May 31, 1920 and raised in Waco by a very special woman, her maternal grandmother, Florence Hunt, who put her own life on hold to raise Hellen and her brother, Kenneth Hathaway, when their mother died at the very early age of 29 years in 1928. Hellen married W.R. Dub Williams on July 9, 1938. He passed away on April 4, 1949. On August 8, 1951, Hellen married E. Vernon Lee and together they raised two sons, William Carlton Bill Lee and James Michael Mike Lee. Hellen and Vernon celebrated 55 years of marriage on August 8, 2006. She is survived by her husband, E. Vernon Lee; son, Bill Lee and wife, Rebecca of Lindale; son, Mike Lee and wife, Marissa of Waco; grandchildren, Kelley C. Lee and wife, JayJay of Athens, Laurie Lee Pappas and husband, John of Austin, Stacie Lee Tiller and husband, Will of Orange Grove, Marci Lee of Temple, Noah Hutchison of Lindale, Axton Dellert, Nicole Dellert and Stephen Dellert of Austin; great grandchildren, Amanda Lee, Jennifer Lee, Austin Monroe and Colton Monroe of Athens and Alexander Pappas of Austin. Also surviving are her nephews, James Grevelle of Dallas, Steve Hathaway and Gary Hathaway of Ore City. Mrs. Lee was a member of Richfield Christian Church, former member of League of Women Voters, Order of Eastern Star, The Abuse Center, A&M Mother’s Club, president of Opti-Mrs Club and A&M Womens’ Club.
