Helon Elizabeth Carter July 21, 1922 - September 6, 2010 Helon Elizabeth Carter of LaPorte, Texas, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010, at her son's residence. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9, at Waco Memorial Park. Mrs. Carter will be in state, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Helon was born July 21, 1922, in Waco, Texas, to Lewis and Dorothy Threlkeld. She and R.K. Bob Carter married in Waco in 1945. The family moved to Baytown in 1960. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Kenneth Carter, in 1982; and two sisters, Beulah Collier and Dorothy Bugg. She is survived by her sons, Bryan Coleman Carter and wife, Julia, of LaPorte, and Robert Kenneth Carter II and wife, Pandora, from Waco; two grandchildren, Nelson Carter and Krystal Carter; and by her sister, Joyce Wadle.
