Henry Zanter

HENRY ZANTER Henry Zanter, 85, of Waco, died Thursday February 21, 2002 at a local nursing home. Services will be 2:00pm Saturday Feb. 23rd at Zion United Evangelical Reformed Church with Rev. Richard Rust officiating. Burial will follow in the Gerald Cemetery. A visitation for friends and family will be 6-8PM Friday at Wilkirson - Hatch - Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave. Mr.. Zanter was born December 25, 1916 in Falls county to Adolph and Helen Glockzin Zanter. He lived in Falls county as a child and a young man. He married Anna Magdelene Wachsmann on May 20,1941, they would have been married 61 years this May. They moved to the Bellmead area and lived there until 1973 when they moved to the Oak-Lake-Elk area. He was a Drag-line operator at Gifford-Hill for 41years when he retired in 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-Walter Zanter, sisters-Emma Zanter Mickler - Lillie Zanter - Louise Zanter. Survivors include wife; Anna Magdelene Zanter of Oak-Lake-Elk, daughter; Linda Meaders and husband Scott of Lacy-Lakeview, son; John Henry Zanter Sr. of Oak-Lake-Elk, grandchildren; John & Tammy Zanter of Mart, Ted Thornton Meaders of Lacy-Lakeview, Brian & Sherry Zanter of Lacy-Lakeview, DeAnna Seale of Mart, 9 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-Great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, brother and sister in laws. He was a firm believer in God and loved his church. Was a family man and always wanted his family around him. He was an outdoorsman and a farmer.
