Herbert Buran Kelley December 10, 1911 – March 31, 2007 Herbert Buran Kelley, 95, died Saturday, March 31, 2007. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Reverend Albert LaForet will be leading family and friends in the Rosary at St. Louis Catholic Church, 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007. Herbert was born December 10, 1911 in Alba, Texas to John and Della Kelley. In Chicago, he met the love of his life and on June 30, 1939, he married Evelyn Mary Plouff of Rhinelander, Wisconsin. After serving 28 years in the United States Air Force, he retired and moved his family to Waco, where Herbert and Evelyn spent the next fifty years together until Evelyn preceded him in death last year. Herbert enjoyed gardening and woodworking as his major interests in his later years. Many friends and family have received the fruits of these talents. Herbert was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn, an infant daughter, six siblings, and an infant great-granddaughter. He is survived by his children, Cathy Ratcliff and husband, Bob, of Waco, Texas; Michael Kelley and wife, Debby, of Canyon Lake, Texas; Carol Lewis of Sarasota, Florida; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
