Herman Otto Haveman Herman Otto Haveman of Waco passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010. Services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Cary Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Mausoleum . Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, May 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Herman was born in Penelope, Texas. He was the tenth of eleven children born to Herman Robert and Augusta Trompler Haveman. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 and served his country honorably during WWII. Following his discharge in 1946, he became a building contractor, businessman and investor. His credo was to make wise decisions and to always follow the right path. He led his life with the belief that wisdom brings strength and knowledge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Lee Haveman. Survivors include his nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his caregivers, Tricia Stephenson and Larissa McLean and his hospice nurse, Kim Thompson. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
