Hester Virginia Bobbie Phipps

PHIPPS, BOBBIE Hester Virginia Bobbie Phipps, 90 of Waco, died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be at 10:30am Wednesday, July 21 at Rosemound Cemetery with The Rev. Frank Mangum officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, July 20 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Mrs. Phipps was born March 12, 1914 in Waco to Walter Henry and Helen Hester Mayes Dietz. She graduated from Waco High School and attended Texas Women’s College in Denton. She married Jim A. Phipps August, 1935. He preceded her in death November 16, 1991. Mrs. Phipps was a member of Austin Ave. United Methodist Church where she was active in the Hartsfield S. S. Class for over 50 years. She was presently a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was also member of Coteria Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #7, and Belle Fleur Garden Club. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Paige Stewart. Survivors include daughter, Carol Ann Stewart of Dallas; sons, Jim W. Phipps and wife, Martha of McKinney and Joe H. Phipps and wife, Mary Lee of Waco; grandchildren, Donna Shields and husband, Mark, Joe Phipps, Jr., Aimee Wood and husband, Mike all of Waco, J. B. Phipps and wife, Leisha, Jenny Powers and husband, Roy all of McKinney, Alec Stewart and wife, Lauren and Phipps Stewart all of Dallas; great grandchildren, Ashlee Shields, Michael Wood, and Connor and Ryan Powers; sister, Dorothy Alexander of Waco; and brother, Henry Dietz and wife, Mary Kathryn of Waco. Pallbearers will be Ryan Powers, Roy Powers, J. B. Phipps, Joe Phipps, Jr., Mark Shields, Mike Wood, Alec Stewart, Phipps Stewart and Connor Powers.
