Homer Odell Mitchell August 28, 1939 - November 27, 2011 Odell Mitchell passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, at Woodlawn Garden of Memories with Pastor Mike Patterson presiding. Visitation will be beforehand, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00. Odell was born in Houston, Texas, to Homer and Mable Mitchell. His brother, Valton has preceded him in death. In 1958, he married Patricia Ruth Sorrell and they shared 53 happy years. He was in the Air Force from 1957 to 1962, then, his career path expanded. He was a machinist, a chemical plant worker, a carpenter, a boat and motorcycle shop salesman and manager, and a yacht Captain. He could fix anything with a motor, and had a likeable character that could be loved by all. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, motorcycling, RV'ing, camping, sailing, traveling with friends, and reading. Though most of his years were spent in Texas, he would say his favorite years were spent in the Caribbean with friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Mitchell; his mother, Mable Tuck; and his two sons, Michael Odell Mitchell, and Dr William Crit Mitchell; a daughter-in-law Michele Elizabeth Mitchell; four grand-children, Jeremy Crit Mitchell, Jacob Odell Mitchell, Joshua William Mitchell, Jordan Danielle Mitchell, and three step-grand-children, Remington Patrick Hammonds, Ashley Ustanik Mitchell, and Lindsey Ustanik Mitchell. Memorials may be made to PHA, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, which is the condition to which he succumbed.
