HOWARD TURK Howard J. Turk, 91, departed this earthly life on February 23, 2002 in a local hospital. Services will be 1:30PM Tuesday, February 26 at WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Paul Carter, Everett Rayburn and Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Monday February 25 at the funeral home. Mr. Turk was born on May 19, 1910 in Abbott to Winifred and Joseph Turk. He was a civil service employee at James Connally Air Base for many years. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher and a member of the Polled Hereford Association. He served on the school board of LaVega Independent School District and has served as a deacon in the Baptist church. He was a current member of Chalk Bluff Baptist Church. Survivors: his wife of 52 years Estelle Cox Turk of Waco; daughters, Lois Clay & husband Richard of Victoria, Martha Cloud & husband Robert of Woodway; sons, Robert B. Turk & wife Kathy of Montevallo, Alabama, Clarence E. Davis & wife Sherri of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael Turk & wife Amy, Jeffrey Turk, M.D. & wife Paige, M.D., Rev. Paul Carter & wife Kelly, Alan Carter & wife Belinda, Robert E. Cloud & wife Laura, Gregory Cloud, Amy Hobart & husband Robert, Terisa Davis, Traci Piazza & husband James; great grandchildren, Wesley Carter, Whitney Carter, Wrandi Carter, Matthew Carter, Megan Carter, Grace Cloud and Davis Piazza; 1 niece, Mabel Oswald of Waco. Pallbearers will be Robert C. Cloud, Richard Clay, Michael Turk, Jeffrey Turk, Paul Carter, Alan Carter, Robert E. Cloud, Gregory Cloud, Robert E. Hobart and James Piazza.
