Imogene Pickens July 4, 1927 - February 6, 2008 Imogene Pickens of Waco passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10, at Billington Cemetery with Chaplain Brian Pendleton officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, February 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Imogene was born July 4, 1927 in Grosbeck to William and Allie Kennedy. Her greatest love was her family. She also loved animals, especially dogs. Sewing and crafting were her hobbies. Her husband, Tom, said "she was a loving sweetheart, wife, and the rock that I leaned on". She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lyndal Wayne Kennedy. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Elza Pickens, Jr., of Waco; daughters, Sharon Kleckley of Waco, and Diane Sims and husband, Kris of Wasilla, Alaska; sons, Thomas W. Pickens and wife, Laureen of Phoenix, Arizona; Daniel "B" Pickens and wife, Doris of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Providence Health Care Group, Providence Hospice, American Heart Assoc. , Diabetes Assoc. or a charity of choice.
