Inez Geltemeyer

Inez Felicia Behringer Geltemeyer September 13, 1927-November 25, 2006 Inez Geltemeyer was called to her heavenly home on November 25, 2006 in Waco. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, at 11 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church of Hewitt. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8:00 pm Monday, November 27 at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home on 6101 Bosque. Inez was born on September 13, 1927 to George and Marie Behringer of Riesel. Inez was valedictorian of her class at Riesel High School. She also completed a business course at 4-C College. She began working at Crosthwait Clinic, Providence Hospital, and Waco Clinical Pathology Lab as a business manager. At the age of 60, Inez returned to school and received an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from McLennan Community College. Her life was committed to her Lord. She served her church by leading and participating in LWML, teaching Sunday school, and singing in the choir. Inez was a certified Braille transcriber and transcribed Sunday school material from print to Braille for 10 years. Inez loved to travel and take pictures. Inez was a lifelong Lutheran and was also charter member of Peace Lutheran Church of Hewitt. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter Gail, her sister, Evelyn Abel of Riesel, and her brothers, Rev. O.N. Behringer and Spencer Behringer. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Johnnie Geltemeyer; her son Glenn and wife Mandy of Coppell; daughter Joan of Waco; sisters Delva Lehrmann of Riesel and Fae Althage of Waco; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
