Irene Evelyn Boyd October 8, 1918 - April 24, 2015 Irene Evelyn Boyd of Waco passed away Friday, April 24, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Father Joseph F. Geleney, Jr., as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. She was perhaps better known by all those who loved her as "Nocky." She lived a giving, loving and selfless life, always faithful to the Lord. She was a light to all who knew her and who loved spending time with her. Anyone fortunate enough to know this wonderful creation of God, always left her presence being praised, complimented, encouraged, supported or helped with a word or phrase of kindness. "Nocky" always met adversity or difficulties with a simple thought: "It's Just Life." She will be greatly missed by all those she has touched in this life. As we all say "she is dancing the Polka in Heaven with Jesus." She worked many years for Citizen's National Bank and as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Caritas. Irene was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert H. Boyd, Jr.; and brother, Ervin Joseph. She is survived by her children, Kathy Boyd and husband Bill Hieatt, Jo Ann Clark and husband, Rusty, Bob Boyd and wife, Mary, Ellen Bridger and husband, Barry and Greg Boyd and wife, Sarah; 13 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; brother, Arthur Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are her eight grandsons. Memorials may be made to Caritas of Waco, 300 S. 15th St., Waco TX 76701.
