Irene P. Dodrill- Hubbard

Irene P. Dodrill-Hubbard December 25, 1919 – January 18, 2007 Irene Dodrill-Hubbard, 87, was greeted by her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2007. She died peacefully at her Waco home where she lived since 1993. Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm on Thursday, January 25 in the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pastor Grant Kaul officiating. Family will greet visitors from 3:00 - 4:00 pm prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana. Irene was born on Christmas day to the late Rev. Rufus and Bessie Dodrill Sr. Rev. Dodrill was pastor of the Broadway Baptist Church in Indianapolis for 41 years. She was married in 1937 to the late Richard A. Hubbard. She and her husband were founding members of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple. They resided in West Bend, Wisconsin for 12 years and were founding members there of the First Baptist Church of West Bend. In Fort Myers Beach, Florida she was the office manager for resort parks for 22 years. Preceding her in death was her brother, Rufus Dodrill Jr. Irene is survived by her three children, Richard D. Hubbard and wife, Kathryn of Indianapolis, Indiana, Gretchen Williams and husband, J. Ronald of Waco, Texas and Rebecca Hicks of Deer Park, Texas. Survivors also include her six grandchildren, Holly Miller and Heather Hubbard, both of Indianapolis, Allison Hull of Long Beach, California, Aaron Williams of Fort Worth, Texas, Heidi Hicks of Clear Lake, Texas and Annissa Hicks of Austin, Texas. Great-grandchildren include Grace Miller, Grant Miller and James Hull. Memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse or the Billy Graham Foundation.
