Itasca Davis Rogers

ROGERS, ITASCA DAVIS Itasca Davis Rogers, age 85 of Waco passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2004. Services will be held at 11:30am Thursday, April 22 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Dr. Raymond Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7pm Wednesday, April 21 at the funeral home. Mrs. Rogers was born June 30, 1918 in Waco to Walter C. and Itasca Reece Davis. She graduated from Waco High in 1936 and attended Baylor University where she was active in drama. She was formerly employed with Texas Life Insurance Company and Rogers Delinted Cottonseed Company. She was a lifetime member of Seventh and James Baptist Church. She was very active in the Waco Civic Theater where she was a life member and was featured in many of their productions. She was also a member of Altrusa Club, Sweet Adelines and Rosson Study Club. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Womack, her son, Thomas D. Womack, her parents, her sisters, Dollilee D. Smith and Nelly Edna Thorn and a brother, Melvin Davis and grandson, John R. Wright. Survivors include husband, T. Woodrow Rogers, Sr. of Waco; daughters, Mary Ellen Wright and husband, John of Waco and Kathy Bourland and husband, Richard of Fort Worth; son, Woody Rogers and wife, Ann of Waco; seven grandchildren,; two great grandchildren; brother, Gordon Davis of Alamogordo, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Opal Hunt and husband, Dumont of Waco; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be David Fisher, Jimmy Miller, Craig Smith, Spencer Houston, Andy Rogers, and Robbie Bourland. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
