J. Clark Norman April 10, 1925 - January 12, 2009 J. Clark Norman of Robinson passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at Waco VA Hospital. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Minister Jim Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Clark was born April 10, 1925, in Dallas, Texas, to Jessie and John Norman. He joined the U.S. Marines June 1, 1943 and was in the first wave at Guam. After being wounded he received the Purple Heart. Upon his discharge in 1945 he attended Abilene Christian College and North Texas State University. He was an avid bowler, Waco City Champion and inducted into the Waco Bowlers Hall of Fame. Clark was assistant manager of Lake Air Lanes, manager of Westview Lanes and always involved in sales. He enjoyed outdoor activities including golf, fishing, gardening and hunting. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Monroe Hicks; brother, Lee Edward Norman and grandson, Nathan Lee Pilant. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances; sons, J. Clark Norman Jr. and wife, Kathy; Ronald Norman and wife, Nina; and daughter, Carol Pilant and husband, Randy; seven grandchildren, Sarah, J. Clark III, Amanda, Christoper and Clarissa Norman; Gary and Greg Pilant; brother, Johnny Norman and wife, Donna.
