J. K. ''Jake'' Guderian

October 10, 1919 — May 21, 2002

GUDERIAN, J. K. JAKE J. K. Jake Guderian, age 82, of Lorena died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at a Fort Worth hospital. Services will be 11:30 AM Friday, May 24 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Bill Schibler and Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Chilton Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 7:00-9:00PM Thursday, May 23 at the funeral home. Jake was a kind hearted and caring man. He was born October 10, 1919 in Falls County to R. C. and Sadie Wooley Guderian. He attended school in Golinda. He served in the U. S. Navy on the Pacific Rim during World War II. He had worked as a farmer for most of his life. He was a member of Golinda Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Dimple, son, Steven Glen, two brothers and one sister. Jake was a friend to all who knew him and will be remembered and missed by all. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Virginia Guderian of Lorena; daughters, Sharon Sparkman of Dallas, Sandy Rogers and husband Don, Shirley Beeman and husband Randy, Debbie Dorris and husband Ricky, all of Lorena; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, who affectionately knew him as “Uncle Jake”. Pallbearers will be Jason Farmer, Shannon Guderian, Jack DeGrate, Sonny Radle, Don Schwank, and Ron Schwank. Honorary pallbearers are his sons-in-law. Memorials may be made to Golinda Baptist Church.
